Did I tell you that this is the first time in ten years that my sister and I have lived in the same city?
It's gosh darn fantastic.
I've seen her every week and it's so lovely to see her pretty face all the time now.
I went to see her in SF on Saturday.
Most gorgeous day ever.
See?
We strolled and chatted our way along Embarcadero...
and ended up...
Here.
This is Disneyland to me, people.
I have been waiting to visit the Ferry Market Building farmers' market since
I learned about food, SF, and happiness.
It was everything I imagined and more.
Bright, plump, juicy produce,
Lovely scents of food all around...
Heaven. Pure heaven.
Yes, that sounds good to me.
We went to Gott's for some lunch.
Just stare.
It's okay, go ahead... stare for a few minutes.
My cheeseburger was delicious and all, but...
Those sweet potato fries.
...
I can't speak.
Let's move on.
(They were really good. Really really good.)
Approval received.
Also, by some chance or funny coincidence or sisterly psychic cosmic connection,
we showed up wearing the same exact outfit (no planning at all),
Riding boots, white shirts, leggings, and navy blazers.
I was giddy with excitement,
but my sister practically ran the other way.
I think it's not as cool to match your little sister as it is to match your big sister?
Or something?
Or something?
Here I am with my very first Blue Bottle coffee...
[New Orleans style ice coffee]
OK wait pause, let's talk about this.
I'm no coffee expert.
I love Starbucks.
But... Blue Bottle is on a level of its own.
Aromatic, pungent, whatever you want to call it...
It's insane.
After that goodness,
we walked to Union Square.
I have always been and am even more so
in love with San Francisco.
Where else can you find a Gangnam Style flash mob?
We shopped for the whole afternoon,
and I nearly missed my train...
the same train car which the new residents of my old dorm were in.
Blast into the past - very cool.
Before I leave you,
look at what I got...
Some goodies from Miette Patisserie,
another place on my must visit list.
Ahem.
Just look at the packaging.
I'm done.
It's over.
We got:
an assortment of macarons & a gingerbread cupcake
(which apparently is one of America's Top 10 Best Desserts).
To me, the cupcake connoisseur, it was a big moment.
Moist, subtle, with an amazing frosting... I definitely recommend.
Macarons are my new favorite sweet treats.
Loved the vanilla and pistachio!
Thanks for coming along with me on the ride.
I know it was a long one.
And thank you, sweet sister, for the most perfect day!
